      Hello Trey,

In the PTO world, you will get roughly 1 kW per 2HP from the tractor’s PTO. Your tractor will definitely run the generator, but you will not get the full capacity. You will get about 27kW from your tractor. You will just have to make sure not to overload your tractor and cause it to stall. We do offer the 27PTO if you want to match your tractor’s kW potential. If you have more questions, you can always call us at 507-357-6821.

  2. Question

    Morgan Wilson

If I have a 150 hp tractor with a 1000 rpm pto, can I run a 540 adaptor and just run the engine fast enough to get 540? I’m thinking it would save some fuel and engine wear and tear if it wasn’t running at full rated and still would have enough power to spin the generator.

I have a MF 5445 with PTO rated 70-75 hp. Which of your generators would you match this with?

Hello Oscar, the rule of thumb is you need 2 HP for every 1kW. Your tractor can produce around 35 kW with this formula. We offer a 27PTO and a 50PTO. You can use your tractor with either one of these. You will only get out as much as the 27PTO produces, see spec sheet for output per your application. You will only get what the tractor can produce (35kW) from the 50PTO. If you have any further questions on sizing, please contact our sales department 507-357-6821.
