At Winco we work hard to provide a clear and fair warranty. Many companies try to impress their customers with extremely generous sounding warranties that don’t always hold up. This section provides you with the information you need so that you know what to expect from Winco when you purchase one of our products.
Return Material Policy
Returned for Stock
All parts returned for restock must have preapproval from the WINCO service department and an RMA number issued before they are returned. A 25% restock fee will be charged on all service parts returned. Parts must be in new and unused condition. All parts are subject to inspection before acceptance for restocking. A copy of the WINCO RMA paperwork must be included with all returns. Parts must be returned within 30 days of original shipment. Customer is responsible for all freight charges.
Drop Shipped Parts
Parts that are drop-shipped from a supplier are subject to that supplier’s return policy. Drop-ship parts will be shipped directly back to the supplier. Supplier restocking fees in excess of WINCO’s 25% will be applied to the return credit.
Electronic parts are non-returnable. Examples are AVRs (automatic voltage regulators), digital controllers, engine control assemblies with circuit boards, etc.
Returned for Warranty Consideration
A copy of the RMA paperwork must be included with each return. Preapproval is required, you must have an RMA number prior to return. All parts returned for warranty consideration must be shipped freight prepaid. The return freight charges should be added to the warranty claim for reimbursement.
Generators Returned for Restock
All generator and accessory sales are considered final. Any exception to this policy must have preapproval from the WINCO Sales Manager and an RMA number issued before items are returned. A minimum 25% restock fee will be charged on all generators returns plus the actual costs of the original shipment. Generators must be in new and unused condition and are subject to inspection before acceptance for restocking. The WINCO RMA paperwork must be included with all returns. Units must be received by WINCO, Inc., within 30 days of issuance of an RMA number. Customer is responsible for all freight charges.
SPECIAL ORDER PARTS
Special Order or Custom Parts
Parts that are custom fabrications or special orders cannot be returned nor cancelled. Examples include ASCO 300 and 7000 series transfer switches, private label parts, and other custom ordered parts. If this policy is waived by the Sales Manager increased restocking fees and special RMA instructions to the original supplier may be required to accept the return.
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBLITIES ON ALL RETURNS
- Properly package the product to protect it during shipment. Damage caused by improper packaging may
affect the amount of refund credited.
- Include copy of the RMA with the packing slip.
- Pay for the freight costs of the return shipment.
- Return the material to WINCO within 30 days of the issuance of the RMA
