  1. Question

    Russell Benes

Please help.. I’m installing a wireless remote start (fob button) start. I live off the grid. My winco is in a shed 25 ft from my cabin. I am handicapped and to remotely start would be great. I purchased a remote start kit. With 12v in. 12v out 2 grounds and antenna. My electrician needs to know where the 12v in and 12v out need to be connected. I surely would appreciate if you could help. I’m not getting any younger and really need this hooked up. Thank you so much ulpss8b2w/e

Hi Russell. Please have your electrician call our Service Department @ 507-357-6831. We will need to know more about your remote start kit. The model you have requires a closed dry contact between start (22/23) and battery negative (1) on the DC terminal block to start the generator set. Open to stop. There is also battery positive (5) on that terminal block as well. The operators manual has a picture and explanation of this.

I would like to know if this genset allows for a manual remote start circuit. I have a similar situation to Russell but have a hard wiring start circuit going to the old gen set that I am now replacing.

Rick, yes it is a two wire start gen-set. You can run two wires to any location and install a simple switch to start it. If you have further technical questions please contact our Technical Support Department @ [email protected].

    Question about engine rpm

    Rick Michod

I am looking for a approx 7-8 kw gen set to replace my old Onan 1800 rpm unit. Why are your 8kw gensets using 3600 rpm engines and not a low speed 1800 rpm engine. It used to be when I first started buying gen sets for my remote off-grid ranch I always looked for and bought 1800 rpm engines. Now, no manufacturer seems to make 1800 rpm units in gas/lp formats. Why is that? Thanks, Ricky
