Transfer Switch

Whenever a generator is connected to a home that is normally powered by the electric grid a transfer switch is required by law. The transfer switch is designed to isolate an electric service from the utility grid when it is powered by an emergency generator. This safety mechanism protects linemen from dangerous back feeding. The home and generator is also protected from damage when the utility grid restores power.

Winco offers many different types of transfer switches that operate both manually and automatically. Our transfer switches are designed with interlocking features that prevent the operator from inadvertently connecting both the utility and emergency sources of power simultaneously. We carry switches manufactured by the leaders in the industry including Winco, ASCO, and Square D.
